Braves Rockies Game 1

Let's hope James can bounce back from the 6 earned runs and 3 homers he gave up to the Mets.
 
Looks like Chuck James might have remembered how to pitch again.
 
I would ordinarily be pissed off about watching this lead evaporate, but I've been to four or five games in Coors Field before, and a 6-1 lead there is like a two-run lead anywhere else.
 
Braves have really been giving up a lot of seeing eye singles the past couple of nights. Both of those last 2 hits were just a few feet from being inning ending double pl;ays.

It's huge. I guess when they built the place they tried to compensate for the altitude by pushing the fences back, but I think all they ended up doing is adding 30 points to every hitter's batting average just because there's so much room to cover. If any team ever needed Andruw Jones at age 24, the Rockies do.

If you ever go to a game at Coors, make sure to either allow four hours for it, or be prepared to leave early. I want to say that Denny Freaking Neagle hit a grand slam in one of the games I went to, or maybe it was just a three-run homer.

I missed the last couple innings of the game. What happened to Wickman??

He gave up a couple of runs and then signalled to the dugout that he was finished and Cox yanked him. On TV they said he was doing a lot of stretching on the mound.
 
Very interesting. The Rafael Soriano era may have arrived earlier than we anticipated.
