They'll spend the next 10 days in South Florida, Los Angeles and San Diego, but the Braves know it's not time for chilling on a beach. They need to show they're in this race for the long haul. They have a 10-game trip leading into the All-Star break, and this stretch could go a long way toward determining whether the Braves will be serious postseason contenders. "It's essential we play well over this stretch," third baseman Chipper Jones said after Wednesday's 13-0 rout of Washington, which completed a series sweep and helped the Braves get over the wretchedness of a five-game losing streak that preceded the Nationals' arrival.
